Based on the grammar diagnostic we completed a few weeks ago, we will be starting grammar this semester with a review of Parallel Structure. Follow the steps and the deadlines below to complete your work on this module.
Once you feel relatively comfortable with the material - put your computer aside and ask your substitute teacher for the English 11 Parallel Structure Handout. Complete the handout individually and turn it in. I will be scoring this to assess your work today and your understanding of this concept.
Step Two - in class on Wednesday, 02/22 : you will work together in class in a small group to complete a group assessment on the concept you individually studied online. This assessment will be in SAT ERROR ID Style. You will get feedback and have an opportunity to ask questions and seek help on the concept at this point.
Step Three - date TBD : you will complete an individual assessment on the grammar concept to be counted for a grade.
Step Four : If you score below a 75% on our individual assessment, you will need to review the module again, visit the Writing Center or help session with me, and retake your individual assessment. If you score well on our individual assessment and demonstrate understanding of the topic, you will move on to the next module.
